Ludwig van Beethoven - Klarinettentrios
Ib Hausmann (Klarinette) Maria Kliegel (Cello) Nina Tichman (Piano) Clarinet Trio in E flat major, Op. 38 "Ib Hausmann plays with a nicely rounded tone that avoids the pungency of many of today’s leading clarinettists, and as such blends readily with his colleagues." »Early« and »Late« tells of a composer whose early success was followed by fifty years of adversity and neglect, little of which disturb the almost Brahmsian mellowness of the Clarinet Quartet.

Paul Bowles - "Migrations"
Paul Bowles - composer, novelist (The Sheltering Sky), and in the 1930s and '40s the darling of New York's musical and theatrical elite - flew to New York in September 1995 from his home in Tangier (Morocco) to attend a three-day festival of his music. The event was extraordinarily successful, and soon after LARGO released this first-ever Paul Bowles CD, a survey of his musical travels, ranging from New York, Paris and Berlin in the 1930s, to the Tangier of the 1990s. |
